The departure time is set at 7:00 am from Marrakesh to Dades Gorges where we drive across the Atlas Mountains to Ouarzazate. You will enjoy the road and the beautiful landscapes of the Berber villages’ different colors. The first stop is made to visit ‘Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah’, the classified fort since 1987 by UNESCO as a human international patrimony. It is the land where many movies had been filmed like (Gladiator, Laurence of Arabia, kingdom of heaven…).
After that, we will continue to ouarzazate to visit the old Kasbah of “Taourirt Kasbah” and have lunch there. Then, we drive through the Roses valley and Skoura palm groves to Dades valley at five pm. The night is spent in the hotel with dinner and overnight in Dades gorges.
Day 2: Dades Gorges – Boumlane – Tinghir – Toudra Gorges – Tinjdad – Erfoud – Merzouga Dunes
From Dades gorges, we will leave the hotel at 8 am to arrive in Todra Gorge where you will have the time to trek along the canyons that are about 300m high which is a preferred place by mountain climbers. Afterwards, Erfoud welcomes us for lunch before driving to Merzouga, at 4:00 pm in the afternoon, you arrive in the middle of the Merzouga Dunes. You can ride camels in the Saharan dunes for one hour. Spending the night in the bivouac at the sunset is quite good with the Merzouga Desert’s shooting stars. Dinner and overnight are in Merzouga Sahara Desert camp.
Day 3: Merzouga Dunes – Tazarine – Agdaz – Ouarzazate
You can’t leave Merzouga before witnessing the magical scene of the rising sun. after such a refreshing scenery, we are ready to take the road back to Marrakesh saying goodbye to the gemstone of Africa. Via Tazarine and the Draa valley junction, we will pass north to Ouarzazate after crossing the small volcanic Atlas Mountains. Dinner and Overnight in ouarzazate.
Day 4: Ouarzazate – Ait Ben haddou – Marrakech
The first location to visit in this day is the cinema studios of Ouarzazate. Afterwards, we will visit the Uiversal Heritage Site of Ait Benhaddou Kasbah as it has been named by UNESCO in 1987. After tha,t we will have to stop for lunch to continue our way to Marrakesh through the High Atlas Mountains and Tizi n’Tichka pass. A break for tea in the middle of the Atlas Mountains is perfect. Arriving to Marrakech is around 18:00 pm.
