5 Days Fes Desert Tour Merzouga Ouarzazate Marrakech

1 Day: Fes – Ifrane – Cedar Forest – Midelt – Ziz Valley – Merzouga Desert

Our plan starts with Picking you up from your hotel at 8am and going southward to cross the Middle Atlas Mountains reaching Ifrane, the so called” Little Switzerland of Morocco” for its resemblance to the country. You will visit one of the most impressive sites in Ifrane that is a stone statue of the lion of the Atlas which lived in the area long time ago. Then, we cross the famous cedar forests discovering the Great Cedar Gouraud, it is the largest and the oldest cedar tree in the region that hundreds of Gibraltar monkeys make it the habitat for them. Lunch is at MIDELT where the place is full of geological formations that are brilliant with deep green valleys. We will also encounter the Ziz Valley. Then, we arrive to the most ancient Kasbahs where palm trees cover the area. After an hour, we go to Erfourd to ride the several impressive dunes of Merzouga. After sipping tea in the camp, we leave to climb to the first dunes at the sunset. Dinner and overnight at Erg Chebbi in the hotel are perfectly ordered.

Day 2: Merzouga – Nomadic Families – Riding a camel and night in Haimas Nomads

This day is a total- Desert day trip. After the breakfast, we meet at the surroundings of Erg Chebbi where we dive into the Great Dune of Morocco with over than 250 meters connecting the road with the Paris-Dakarand. At Tissardmin, we can find Fossils’ companies and follow the road reaching the settlements of the Nomads before we stop at the village of Khamlia where we will rest with a cup of tea enjoying the spiritual traditional music of Gnawa. Afterwards, we return to try a camel caravan entering the heart of the dunes where you will enjoy an unforgettable sunset. We go back after an hour to stay in the Haim” camps made with the hairs of camels”. Dinner and overnight at Haimas are going to be marvelous in the heart of the desert especially under a spectacular sky of stars.

Day 3: Desert Merzouga – Rissani Market – Todra Gorges – Dades Valley

You are recommended to wake up early in the morning walking to the highest dune around the camp/ haima to enjoy the relaxing scenes of sunrise with the varied nature pictures. We will choose to return on camels to Merzouga. After the breakfast, we have to leave for Rissani to visit its market, and then we go ahead to Erfoud where we can discover the fossilized marble factory. After an hour, we are in Touroug and Tinjdad. Leaving the palm massive fields going to The Todra Gorges, one of the most important points of the High Atlas. However, it is a mere natural beauty where climbers find it such a unique place. Enjoy tasty lunch at the Gorges. In the afternoon, we continue to the valley of figs / Dades Valley reaching Boumalne Dades where we stop at the ‘legs mono’. However, dinner and night are organized in the Gorges du Dades.

Day 4: Dades Valley – Vallée de Rosas – Boutagrar- Palm Skoura – Ouarzazate

We are going to enjoy our time in the Dades Valley after having the breakfast in the morning. We begin from the mountains where we can see the plenty kasbahs scattered there, and then we go ahead to reach the Kasbah of Ait Youl where we will explore its’ landscapes. In the area, we can visit a nomadic family that still living in the Vallé of Boutagrar’s caves. It is quite a strange uncommon condition. What do you think?

We are going to discover all the naturalistic characteristics of the area starting from the valleys, canyons, caves and mountains. We can also ask the Nomads how do they live in the heart of the mountains. We arrive in Vallé of Roses and then have lunch in Kelâa M’gouna through the Skoura’s palms, then we reach Ouarzazate where we have dinner and overnight at the hotel.

Day 5: Ouarzazate – Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou – High Atlas Mountains – Marrakech

In the morning, we will discover Ouarzazate’s sites of Kasbah of Taourirt. After we leave the fortified Ksar of Ait Ben Haddou, we visit the famous Kasbah there. It is chosen as the World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1986. In this spectacular setting, different international movies have been shot as Gladiator, Alexander, Jewel of the Nile and Sahara with Penelope Cruz.

We will leave to Marrakech after lunch crossing the mountain from Tizi Ntichka. Arrive in Marrakech at about 18h pm directly to the hotel.
